CHEERLEADING
Home of the Butler High School Cheerleaders
Butler Cheerleaders are ambassadors for the Butler Area School District. They attend various athletic events to cheer on the other sports teams. Our competitive program has a history of excellence at the state and national level. We have four PIAA State titles (2013 - Small All Girl, 2016 - Small All Girl, 2019 - Coed Varsity, 2023 - Coed Varsity) and have placed top 10 at UCA Nationals 13 times, placing as high as 2nd in Small All Girl and 3rd in Small Coed.
Tryouts
Tryouts are held in the Spring for the following school year. Male and female athletes going into grades 7-12 that live within the Butler Area School District are eligible to try out.
Junior High Game Squad includes athletes in 7th and 8th grade - occasionally JHS will be split into two teams at the discretion of the coaches. Junior Varsity Squad includes athletes in 9th and 10th grade. Varsity Game Squad includes athletes in 11th and 12th grade.
Junior High Competition includes athletes in grades 7-9. Varsity Competition includes athletes in grades 9-12. All competition athletes must also be a member of a game squad team.
Clinics
The Butler Varsity Cheerleaders host youth clinics to share their love for cheerleading and knowledge with the community.
