Program Requirements:

  • TRYOUTS: In order to try out for our program, you must live within the Butler Area School District boundaries and be going into 7-12 grade the upcoming school year. If you were a member of the team in the previous season, you must not have any outstanding obligations (financial or equipment) owed to the Butler High School Cheer Parent Association or Butler Athletic Department.

  • AMBASSADORS: Your #1 job as a Butler Cheerleader is to represent the school is a positive, respectful manner. This includes, but is not limited to, how you act at school, practices, games, competitions, within the community, and on social media.

  • GAME DAY: Butler Cheerleaders attend many athletic events throughout the season so fundamental cheer skills are incredibly important! This means voice, smile, proper motion placement and sharpness. This can be a deciding factor during tryouts.

  • TUMBLING: Tumbling can help set you apart at tryouts. It is not required but is preferred, especially for athletes intending to try out for our competition teams.

  • STUNTING: Stunting is only evaluated as a part of our competition team tryouts unless you are a male. Male athletes will be asked to perform a coed stunt and full group stunt during game squad tryouts. We are looking for potential and willingness to learn from our male athletes!
